USCIS Announces H-1B Registration Period
Today USCIS announced that the 2027 Fiscal Year H-1B cap registration process will run from March 4, 2026 until March 19, 2026. Some of the key points for this year’s registration process are:
Employers need an “organizational account” in order to take part in the registration process.
There is a $215 fee for each registration.
If USCIS receives more registrations than the number of visas available, it will conduct a lottery under its new weighted selection process based on wage levels. (Full wage level research and analysis will need to be completed prior to registration now.)
If an H-1B applicant does not qualify for a change of status and/or they require consular processing, the employer may need to pay the new $100,000 fee required by the President’s Restriction on Entry of Certain Nonimmigrant Workers Proclamation.
USCIS intends to send selection notifications by March 31, 2026, to each users’ USCIS online account.
